Couch to 5K Plan

Yesterday I signed up for a 5K run.  It is the Pumpkin Pie 5K in Denver, and part of the proceeds will go to a cause very dear to my heart, Global Hope (we have to get a team of 10 or more to earn money for Global Hope).  The problem is that I haven’t been walking or running consistently for awhile.  So, today will be my Week 1, Day 2 workout.  Six weeks is not long enough to be in great shape for a 5K, but I hope to be better than I am now.  This is just the push I needed to get up off of the couch and move. 

Day 1

Brisk 5 minute walk.  Then, alternate 60 seconds of jogging with 90 seconds of walking for a total of 20 minutes. 

Day 2: Repeat Day 1.
